The key to flounder fishing is to spot them before they spot you. NZ flounder have small mouths but are incredibly aggressive — they'll strike at almost anything that passes by, as long as the size is right (1–5cm range).

The Crabby Hunter softbait is super light and soft, making it easy for flounder to suck in. Trim it down if needed to match conditions. Proven deadly effective on mud flats with plenty of holes. It can also be used as a crab imitation lure to target any bottom dwellers, or when weather conditions force fish to feed from the bottom.

Retrieve slowly with pauses, as flounder will often pause and observe the lure before committing, so give them that moment before a tap or a sighted strike happens.

Paired with a 1.5-3g jigheads.
