The needle diameter is approx. 1mm — strong enough to hold squid up to 1.5kg landbased, yet flexible enough to bend with your bare hand to adjust the hook angle. Always wear a glove or use pliers when correcting the hook.

⚠️ Important Gaffing Tip

Always gaff the squid from the end of its hood (mantle), not from the head. This keeps the squid's head facing downward so you won't get targeted by its ink!
